Sebastian Prignitz (Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften) - Building Accounts and Building Programme of Epidauros
From Epidauros comes a group of inscriptions with building accounts from 400 to 300 B.C. (IG IV² 102-120). The texts give information about the building commission's income and expense, as well as about construction time and processes, and building materials.
Several new decipherings and completely new texts allow a better insight into the building programme. The lecture will focus on the younger group of accounts after 350 B.C., namely the accounts of the Aphrodition, the Abaton and the Maleatas sanctuary that can be connected with buildings and architectural remains.
