Most CIG-sponsored fieldwork projects provide the opportunity for student volunteers to gain first-hand knowledge of excavation and/or archaeological survey techniques.
The Institute submits applications for fieldwork to the Hellenic Ministry of Culture in November of the year preceding that in which the project is to take place. The results of CIG’s applications are usually known within six months of the applications’ submission, i.e. by April or May.
